I took vacation in March. The first week was spent in Virgina and DC. We had Daniel's brother's family "crash" our vacation. It was great because I learn to surf in one of those indoor surf waves. I stayed in a cabin, called house over the pond, in the mountains where there is no cell phone reception. Went into the underground caves of the Northern Appalachians. We went to DC to the natural museum and learned where our common ancestor came from. Our cousin the ape thought that it was pretty kickin' cool too. The best part was that the Butterfly hot house was free that day, so Daniel, my niece, and I got to go in.
We went to Ben Chili which is famous because of all the celebrities that go there including Barack Obama! The food wasn't as good as everyone claimed it to be, but it could have been better had it been made out of fresh ingredients.
We went to the zoo, but it was like going to a University with sports while other Universities are research. Hogle Zoo had more animals then this zoo, and the elephants were depressed and didn't move for the 15 min. we sat there. Daniel and I were bummed because we wanted to see the white tiger, but they didn't have one. One cool thing is we did get to hear the lion roar which I have never really heard before.
Later on in the month for my birthday I wanted to go to the ballet. I saved my Christmas money and birthday money to get really good tickets. I made a new dress from my "project runway" fabric. I made a hair piece that day, and made Daniel get into his suit. We went to the Melt Pot. I hadn't been in a long time and Daniel had never done fondue. He ended up with our friend's opinion of "that is just too much work for your food."
Now you know why I haven't blogged because it has been an effort to get all of my pictures downloaded and then explain. I have just been on Hulu instead of on blogspot.

Cute Dress! And who knew there was so much fun to be had around DC! I should totally go to those caves.
Hulu..what's Hulu? Should I tell you Roy is watching the new Doctor RIGHT NOW? Fun to see all your great pictures.
so you didn't tell is if the Ballet was any good after all that work (and if Daniel stayed awake?)
You made that dress??!!! I am totally impressed....you have some mad sewing skills!! Glad that you had such a great March-- you deserve it!!
That must not have been the National Zoo because it's a-maze-ing; especially if you go at elephant bathing or squid feeding time! Congrats on the birthday and all the gun!
