Excitement Has Arrived

My best friend Jody and her husband, Logan, showed up in Atlanta last week. The best way to describe Jody is a ball of energy, giggles, and adventure all roll up into one. If there is a crazy idea out there she will think of it, tell me, and then I will make it happen. The two of us are a deadly force of adventure against the world at large.

Fortunately for us, our husbands deal with this and can talk to each other while we go on our adventures. They talk about sci-fi, computers, video games, and general nerdy paraphernalia. Our cat didn't do so well, though. We got Dos through Jody and Logan. He ended up hissing at them the whole weekend because he thought for sure they were going to take him back. Not until the last day did he figure out that they were okay and he could go outside our bedroom and the bathroom.

Over the weekend, Daniel and I were able to force them to watch Doctor Who (see, I knew I could get someone to see it). We all went to the aquarium, where we met more Atlantians (Logan's friends) and said a lot of horrible jokes about whale sharks dying. It was decided that the next reality TV show should be "Punch the Large Grouper" (which I keep saying wrong... instead, groper--which is also worth punching). Afterwards, much eating, drinking, laughing, and driving ensued.

Early Sunday morning the Tornado warning sounded off. Well, this is excitement indeed, since Jody had never been "in" a tornado before--unless you count the two of us creating one in Ann Taylor Loft. Of course she slept through the first warning sound until she woke up to me staring her down in the face trying to see if she was awake. On the weather channel it only said it was a "Thunderstorm Warning" so we all went back to bed. Little did we know that parts of Douglas county was wiped out in one area or another. Jody always brings excitement with her, whether she wants a tornado or not. Most of the weekend ended up relaxed and fun, but we giggled until our bellies ached.

I had to post since you are so awesome! I keep thinking about Dr. Who so we'll probably have to rent it soon enough. I also keep telling everyone I slept through a tornado. Hope Dos is happier now that we left!
