Daniel and I had our second year anniversary and I surprised him by taking him to Toccoa Ga, to a bed and breakfast. This was difficult since I can never surprise him. He always guesses my surprises; this makes Christmas not very fun. I had to some way get Daniel into the North Georgian mountains without him knowing it! I made him think it was his responsibility to plan our anniversary. So I suggested we get pedicures, which Daniel really liked since he has the worse toenails they are like knifes and I have to tell him to keep cutting them. Then Daniel suggested we go up to Dahlonega. It was a cute little town and we walked in all of the shops and town squares.
We started to drive "home" when I went the "wrong" way. Toccoa is about 2 hours from Dahlonega. Daniel accepted that I wanted to take the scenic route home until about an hour and half into the drive he decided that he was being kidnapped. Daniel thought I was taking him to Asheville, NC. I finally pulled up to the Bed and Breakfast and told him surprise. He was a little mad because I was making him read our primary lesson for church the next day. He guess that we wouldn't be making it to church. We explore the sleepy town of Toccoa. It was deserted and it reminded us of the movies where the serial killer lives and the dumb unsuspecting teenagers come to live. We asked an old man at the deserted Amtrak station where to eat. He said he didn't think that there were any restaurant open this late on Saturday (6:00pm), but the main st might have something open past the hot dog stand. We thought great now we have met the old man that warns the teenagers out of town because something isn't right in town ie: restaurants aren't open. Anyways we found this great little family run restaurant and enjoyed some of the best steak since moving to the south.
Our Bed and Breakfest was the cutest place it was an old Queen Anne style home and was made of a lot of wood which we rather liked. Daniel kept touching all the antiques in the room saying things like, "Look Annie take these gloves with you they're complimentary." I kept telling him to stop touching things he was going to break it(like the porcelain pitcher), and I would feel bad because the owner lived in the bed and breakfest so she paid for all of the antiques. I will admit sleeping on an antique bed is like sleeping on a couch bed, your back kills afterwords. Thank goodness for boxsprings!
The next morning befor we left we went to Toccoa Falls which is higher than Niagra, but a little puny because of the drought.
