The End of The Summer

Well it is now the end of the summer and I am now back to the 50 seater airplane. This means that I will have to work all by myself. I will admit that I am dreading this especially after my last crew this month. Awesome people, one pilot is a southern farmer with a mustache who is very quiet, but you don't want to mess with him. The other pilot is from upstate New York and has all of the attitudes of a New Yorker, and yet he was awesome. The other flight attendant was an Irish Catholic New Yorker who transplanted to Cincinnati. Let me tell you I could not stop laughing because of all our dynamics.
This last trip involved me breaking out into hives because we weren't sure if I got bed bugs or had too many Sour Patch kids (that my captain furnished for me), my first officer slammed my finger in the door, and the seal on one of the exit door broke mid flight right as I was standing there. Now this may sound scary and I did scare an employee who was flying for fun because I ran down the aisle trying to call the captain making sure we weren't going to decompress, but in my defense we were still climbing altitude and a quick walk turned into a run. Anyways it turned out okay because other than the pop and rushing sound noise the pressurization was still intact.

My favorite part of the trip was going to Panama City and we decided to go to the barbecue place--Smitty's. I asked my farmer pilot if it was any good because I was picky because I was use to the best barbecue. He said it was okay, but not like Texas barbecue. I new I was in trouble because my first job was for a family owned catering company that specialized in barbecue chicken and ribs. I KNOW how to make awesome barbecue chicken and ribs. We use to call the sauce charbecue because the chicken and ribs would be covered the stuff, you would smell like it after work forever unless you took a shower. I can remember my sister-in-law showing up to work and spraying herself with some bath and body works stuff and then just smell like charbecue the rest of the day. I work there for seven years and the only place that has better chicken and ribs in Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que in Llano Texas. President Bush has even been there. It is family owned as well, and the meat there is amazing. It is in a podunk town between Austin and San Antoino, but it is so worth the drive. These places are what I would call barbecue, but in Panama City and the "deep" south their barbecue is not real barbecue. Its like sliced beef with no sauce. So it just tastes like a beef (pork, chicken) sandwich. Now my pilot from New York did get chicken and ribs. They seemed okay, but lacked sauce. He would sauce it up and then took his fork and knife and then tried to cut the beef rib. Finally I couldn't stand it and I said "What are you doing? You don't eat it like that! Use your hands." He said back, "Well geez, Analisa, I'm not sure I can eat now if you are going to stare and critique! I'm from the North we don't eat stuff like this." I busted up laughing because I had never seen barbecue like this and I couldn't believe that Texas and Utah could have the same taste in Barbecue.

Hilton Head Baby!

So, I got to stay at Hilton Head this week on my trip and it will be the last time that ASA stays overnight there for the rest of the year. I had to take photos of the room that I stayed in especially after the Red Neck Rivera. This was done in much better taste that was relaxing, which is the whole theme of the resort, clean white sheets. The minute I see that the sheets and bed spread are not white I think that they are trying to hide dirt.
Notice my view is of the trees. The last time I stayed there they had just opened up Hilton Head service and I had the room with a view of the beach it was awesome. This hotel is actually a resort and a nice one at that. I can't believe that they have a Wii for exercising, a yoga instructor, I'm sure a personal trainer, water aerobics, and I don't know what else, but if I was on vacation I would not be doing water aerobics. I spent the morning looking at all of the locals any tourist that had babies on the beach. It was awesome to see everyone doing all sorts of things like fishing, boating, some were already in the water, and not much sun bathing since it was overcast. I soon went on into the resort to show you how many pools they had. I couldn't believe how many pools this place had considering that the beach was four feet away. This is one of my favorite over nights.

Like a Sister

So this weekend I got to have the best experience ever. I got to escort my best friend through the St. George temple. I was so excited for her. She looked beautiful and had such a great "Family" support for her. She is a convert and the only member in her family. It was fun because I have been to her baptism, endowment, and probably her marriage. We were neighbors in college, and have never lost touch with each other. We talk near everyday and we still haven't run out of things to say. We look at most things the same way, and are really there for each other. I must say that I miss her a ton, yet it is like were are sisters because we keep so close!

Its over for like two years

My life has become boring again, or maybe just my Friday nights have gotten a little more freer. Doctor Who is over until 2010. Of course it will have a few specials here and there. I know that all of you who don't care if I talk about Doctor Who can have a party. I must say I really liked the direction this series took. Possibly because it was based on being a nobody who really is a somebody and doesn't know it. The best part is that the companion doesn't have the most perfect, glam body in the universe (ie Donna). The best part is a that the "nobody" saves the day, and then has to forget that she ever did it. Even though she saves the day, she is still afraid to do what is necessary. One of the characters in Doctor Who has the glam body and the "perfect" and yet when it all hits the fan she goes home to her mother. I feel like the latest companion because I feel like she does sometimes. Going along with life not sure if I am doing anything right or worth anything, and yet when I look back I have done some incredible things.
